Are You Sick Enough…?

Because of the season I get a lot of clients asked me about coming into work out if they are feeling a little under the weather. One of the doctors I really respect (Dr. John Berardi and Dr. Bryan Walsh at Precision Nutrition) has written several articles on the subject and I have all found them really helpful. I won’t bore you with the long extensive details and microbiology but I definitely want to share this info graph with you.

I’ve always told clients that as long as they weren’t experiencing nausea or had a fever, 9 times out of 10 working-out will usually not make you sicker but can actually also make you feel better.

By using this print out you can see that we have pretty much been in agreement all along. So take a few moments to look at the pretty pictures (instead of doing all the hours of reading like I have ) and keep it as a reminder on your phone or laptop or board at home as a quick reference guide next time you’re not feeling so well…. And then get to the gym anyway. Even use it as a motivator next time you happen to just have the sniffles.
