I’ve been starting the morning off with smoothies that past month and half and if you aren’t doing it you should def give it a try! Being in the fitness and nutrition industry I am never one to get caught up in hype or to fall victim of a new type of “fad” but doing this every morning has completely changed my energy, my focus, and my general well-being. It is super easy and doesn’t require a lot of money to do it. And fact less than $20 a week can easily make 10 ounce smoothies for one person every day. It is a great way to add extra vitamins, minerals, green veggies, fruits, and fiber to your diet without much thought. Plus, if you have trouble eating breakfast right when you wake up this is a great way to get your self started and get the digestion flowing. Heck, it has even replaced my morning coffee. This is just an example of what I made this morning.

Ingredients:

  • Banana
  • Apple
  • Frozen Pineapple Chunks (acts like ice cubes, just cut up and bag your own)
  • 2 handfuls of grapes
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt.
  • 1 cup coconut milk (you can use almond, soy, etc)
  • Two big handfuls of Spinach

And there you have it. Easy can be made in advance and can be put back in the fridge to store for the next 2 to 3 days. Oh, and don’t worry about the calories, you’re probably looking at maybe 100-150 at most per ten ounces. And it’s all incredibly good for you.
